I'm having an error for an alarm 121 on a 2009 Haas Toolroom Mill (TM-1P)
To give the background story, this mill has been sitting idle for maybe two years at this point. I started bringing this mill back to life by replacing the coolant, regreasing (all six points pointed out by the TM addendum), and cleaning the way/way covers/ball screw covers. Cycled all the axises back and forth to make sure nothing was stuck or making weird noises. All the axis loads look normal, everything reading below 10% or so. I've run a spindle warm up routine. I started to run a program to cut a small 1/4" plate just to test out everything and I got this error mid-program.
"121 LOW LUBE OR LOW PRESSURE
Way lube is low or empty or there is no lube pressure or too high a pressure. Check the tank at the rear of the mill below control cabinet. Also check connector on the side of the control cabinet. Check that the lube lines are not blocked."
Rear
Side
Neither of these shows the "External Lubrication System" found in the Haas Mill Manual. (
When reading through the maintenance the first time, I never saw this tank, so I assumed it was not relevant to the TM machine since the manual mostly references the VF machines, and the Toolroom addendum doesn't reference it at all either. As far as my research as brought up, the lubrication system is also called "way lube" (?) but the ways and screws on the Toolroom mill are greased, not oil lubed. The only thing I'm kinda worried about is the spindle, from what I've read it's a greased system so it does have gearbox oil and stuff. I haven't done any sort of maintenance on that guy since I assumed there was nothing to be done. Should I just ignore the error?
Any ideas?
