changing default settings

I have inherited the job of programming a CNC router using Rhino and Rhinocam.Quite impressive software-but.......it frustrates me enormously by reverting to the original parameters for almost everything even when using the same type of machining operation within a single object.For instance the stock alignment always reverts to centred and top surface.The pocketing toolpath always goes back to the same stepover setting even when selecting a different set of features within the same operations browser.
Is there a way to impose my preferred settings and have them memorised?
