hello all,
I am new to CNC , but not the concept. I am a self proclaimed electro mechanical engineer. I build lot on robots and under stand the principles behind stepper control. I have just bought the EBay tb6560 blue control board, 3 nema 23 steppers and a 24v 15 amp p/s. the motors lock up and get super hot. checking out the Mach 3 and my hardware, Its starting to point to the parallel port. on my pc, the port was disabled in the bois. I changed it , but don't know if it correct. on the port all the grounds are good I have 4v on 2 pins and 3.56 volts on all the others. the port was set to ecp,but not sure what to set the dma setting. it seems that my parallel port is sending unwanted voltage to the driver board causing confusion to the steppers. any suggestion would be gladly accepted. the parallel port is on board and heard the can cause issues so I have ordered a PCI parallel port card from eBay. just waiting.
thank you ,
