I do alot of programming for a 5 axis DMS router cutting sheetmetal parts. I am looking for a better way to lead in and out on my 5 axis operations. For example, when I cut a part profile, I want to be able to lead in like I can with a 2d contour operation. I currently use Multiaxis curve following to rout the part and draw in my lead in. Doing this works OK but I would like to ramp into the part without having to retract up to start cutting the profile. I could hand edit to keep the tool down but I don't want to do that. Any suggestions?
