Gerber Profile 408 Router Calibration Problem

$

Hi! My father has a Gerber profile 408 router and he needs to replace the plastic bed with a new sheet and drill the air holes. He has done this before a couple of times but he can't remember how to do it and he says that he thinks that the router is not calibrated properly and might drill just off where it should. I know you are supposed to use two files to cut the holes and the channels. He also says that the manual that came with the machine is not the right one for his router ((chair)). Has anyone ever had this issue? @goodplastics any thoughts?
Thank you!!!!

Looking for Hoss2006, or Hoss Machine

Guys:

Has anyone heard from, or know of Hoss2006, otherwise known as Hoss Machine, or Daniel Kemp? He seems to have dropped out of sight as of the first of the year. I purchased plans for my minimill CNC conversion 10 years ago, made the conversion, and currently need a question answered. I've PMd here thru the CNCZone forum, and emailed to all the addresses I could locate, but with no success.

If anyone can help me with an email address, or whatever, I will really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Need Help! "PROGRAM LOAD FAILED DATA ERROR" Fanuc 160i pc/windows interface Cinci CL-6 laser

Hello. I was hoping to get some help here seeing as though everybody else I have talked to has been
somewhat stumped on what I am assuming should be a simple fix.
My problem involves a used cinci CL-6 Fanuc 160i laser system.
After sorting through various issues I have landed on this and have been stuck for a week.
After the computer boots up and the cinci/fanuc interface loads, I go through the process
of opening a cnc file. Then after that I attempt to LOAD CNC. At this point a windows style
box opens up with the message "LOAD PROGRAM FAILED DATA ERROR". I am at a loss
as to why this is. This only occurs from programs generated by our cinci nesting software.
Pre-loaded files in the computers utilities folder (test squares, simple circle etc.) load without
issue. The current theory is that the HDD on the controller is somehow corrupted and needs
to re-imaged. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Allan

New Machine Build Load G-Code from thrumb drive

I have been using a Shark pendent system which allows me to load the Shark with G-code right from a thumb drive, no PC or software needed. I generate the G-code with Vectric.

I am thinking about building my own cnc and am researching plug and play (I am electrically handicapped) cnc controllers which have the same feature.

Does anyone have a recommendation for me.

Thanks in advance

Need Help! Choosing a vice

Anyone tried this Shars 3x5 vice? The vertical dimensions are taig compatible (base clearsz rail, jaw clears z screw). Also curious if the LMC Z clamps would work on this vice (or is there some other off the shelf clamping solution)

Other one I'm looking at is this LMC 3" Screwless (3" wide, 3.94" opening length, same listed squareness/hardness, but bigger overall in all dimensions). Given the larger overall dimension + smaller opening, it must be a beefier design? Will that result in better work-holding?

I'm leaning toward the extra capacity unless there's a compelling reason to go the other way. It'd be a bit different if the LMC could handle 4" stock. Wonder if it would with a longer cap screw?

Also, I'm mainly looking at vices that have the slots on the side, the hole just seem like extra work/complexity, unless I am missing something?

Newbie DSP to Mach3 board upgrage

Can I swap out a DSP board for a Mach3 board? Wiring for wiring? Do I need anything special other than the software? Just bought my first CNC machine for hobbie. It came with the DSP handle and I already hate it. I am new so I apologize if this has been covered but I could not find where this specific question was asked.

Y axis and A Axis

I have finally worked through some of my issues with my cnc build. I have the A axis slaved to my Y axis with the limit proximity sensors on the back of the machine. When homing the Y axis makes it to the sensor before the A axis.

The company says they use it so the machine is always square but I can not get the 2 axis to be parallel.

I measured the sensors to make sure they are both identical length from the nut.

Parts Bin Louver Dimensions

Hello all,

I'm going to be creating some custom workbenches in-house for my assembly dept, and I an wondering if anyone knows of an industry standard size and offset for the parts bin louver feature seen on so many parts bin hangers. From what I've seen so far, there isn't a true standard. See example here... https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....L._SL1280_.jpg I'd like to order a forming tool for my Laser/Turret, and want to be sure I'm sticking to a standard if one exists. Any guidance is appreciated.

Speeds and feeds in GCode?

So when I set up my RPM and IPM in vcarve is that whats actually being used when cutting?

Were using a shop bot, and the guy who primarily will be operating it was telling me it was running 2k RPM faster than what I had programmed it to in Vcarve.

So is it in the GCode? or is it on the machine side with shopbots software or something?

Router Replacement Spoilboard - Metal Extrusion

Hey Guys!
I need to replace my router table surface and would like to switch from mdf to something more friendly to clamping and work holding. I'm thinking of some sort of t-slot extrusion but cannot find what I want. In my previous life, I had an Chinese router from XYZ Tech (which I gave to my son) and the surface on that machine was t-slots placed about 6" apart and the flats were coated with a rubber material. I don't really care about all that but my existing machine has about a 48 X 48 inch surface and I want to replace the entire surface with the new extrusion.
Does anyone have a link to a vendor that sells this type of surface material (or something similar). All information is appreciated.
I'll attach a pix of a small router that is similar to what I'm interested in!

Thanks.
Bill

Amada Fabrivision scanner... Need info

Hi, all.

My company has an Amada Fabrivision laser scanner for quality inspection. I've figured out many of the simpler functions, but programming it to do things like find the center of a slot and inputting GD&T functions is driving me mad. The manual that came with it reads like stereo instructions.

Anybody know anything about these units? Maybe steer me toward a helpful video or something?

Thanks in advance,
