Problem Z-Remachining giving unexpected/incomplete results
Hi All,
I have used remachining (mostly Zlevel for 2.5D projects) in the past with varying degrees of success (some very), but I am curious how to make it function more consistently. In the image I have a form with inside corners I would like to have cleaned up with a smaller bit, but the remachining op seems to have only gone for 2 areas on the form, neither of which were the actual corners, and left the majority of corners untouched. Am I doing something wrong or missing something conceptually?
Many thanks, O
The outer complete path was a Z finishing pass (I am cutting plywood) with a 0.500" dia endmill
The inner incomplete path is 0.125"dia endmill and found only in highlighted corners.

Can anyone tell me if this is caused because the drive does not see the + - opposites from the pulse encoder as it should, checked connection at motor and was quite oily, cleaned and hooked back up but get same alarm after powering back up, so am I looking at the possibility that I have a bad cable or a bad pulse encoder. Just all of a sudden came up and have not been able to clear.

Need Help! Subroutines in Fusion?
I've been looking all over the internet trying to learn more about subroutines and while I feel I have a decent understanding of how they work, all the tutorials I've looked at seem geared towards manually programming a master file and calling up subroutines.
I was hoping to expand my programming skills with subroutines, and there's a few questions I haven't been able to find answers to.
1. Is it possible to program a subroutine directly in Fusion360 CAM? I am thinking a good starter project would be to use a subroutine as a more flexible way to pattern a toolpath that can easily be adjusted at the machine instead of outputting a new linear pattern in Fusion
2. Is there a way for Fusion to output in relative distances instead of absolute? I was thinking this could be useful for patterning so that the program can automatically index itself. The other option seems to be setting up a G10 and inputting a new G56,57... but that seems less efficient, especially if I want to pattern 10's or hundreds of parts.

Mach 3/4 vs UCCNC vs Linux CNC
Hello Everyone,
I just bought a VMC that i am going to convert and i am looking for opinions as to which software to use.
Features i am looking for
20 Tool ATC
Probing
Flood Coolant
4th Axis
Rigid Tapping (it has a spindle encoder)
Looking at the feature lists on all the different software, they are all capable of those, just looking for opinions on which one would be best suited.
Thanks
Mike

Anilam Crusader II communication help please
First post here. I recently bought a very nice BP Series 1 with an Anilam Crusader II controller (2-axis machine). I've run a number of programs using conversational programming, but would like to write/read to/from the controller. I've read through the Anilam manual, hit the Eastern Tennessee University web site, and done some other web searches for info. Couple of questions for anyone who has successfully dumped from and written to the Crusader II.
I read on the web that I should set the Anilam to 1200 baud, 7 data bits, 2 stop bits, even parity, Xon/Xoff flow control. Those parameters are set through the AUX commands. OK, first question. The ETSU site mentions going to MANUAL model, press AUX, and enter 2784 START to set the controller to 1200 baud. When I do that, it steps the program memory from step 1 to step 2. Did I actually set the controller to 1200 baud or not? Should I enter in MANUAL mode AUX 2784 EVENT ENTER instead? When I do the later, it seems to take the input, but there's no command I'm aware of to see what the controller is set to.
Second question (or third or fourth, haven't been keeping track). I have a laptop with Window 7 and bought a USB to RS232 cable with an FTDI chip that was advertised as being for an Anilam. I downloaded Hype!Terminal from the web for a software interface. Went into Device Manager in Windows and set the baud rate, stop bits, etc. to match the inputs I think were entered into the Anilam. Haven't tried this yet, so may answer my own question when I try tomorrow. At that point, from MANUAL mode, type AUIX 2700 START and I should be sending an ASCII file of the current Anilam memory to Hype!Terminal? Like I mentioned, haven't tried it yet as I just downloaded Hype!Terminal at work and am taking that laptop home for a tryout tomorrow.
Anyone have any experience using the free 2.5D CADCAM program Techne CADCAM? I downloaded it and drew a block, did a machine G-code dump which seemed to work OK though I'm more familiar with Anilam format than what I believe is called RS-274-D format. Decent program to use or is Fusion 360 a better package? My mill is just 2-axis, so figured Techne CADCAM would work for me since as it was explained to me, the 2.5D is a manual adjustment in Z.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any help.
Bruce

Need Help! TB6560 4 Axis smoked after power on (3.5+ years old) + pics
Hello guys
I had my tb6560 4 axis board for more than 3.5 years now and it was working flawlessly
never gets hot nor the motors, never had any problems with the board, not even missed steps
I am not a hard worker on it but I use it often
yesterday was working fine, today just powered up and it did not operate and I started to smell the smoke
I know and heard about the so many problems of this board but this board worked flawlessly all the past years
I did not change anything since last time it was working
I operated and it worked, jogged the machine a little bit then I clicked the soft stop from mach3 (` key)
then it seems that I accidentally clicked it again so i clicked it again to put the machine on sleep as it is nosy and I was fixing a job on the table
then when I tried to operate again it did not operate and I started to smell the smoke, turned it off and took those photos
any explanation for this?
can it be fixed?
I cant spot any damage other than those 3 spots
a blown small component (dont know its name) model E388
and these cut off wires
any help would be greatly appreciated

Help! Post processor error: Mastercam V9/Techno LC Series cnc
Hoping someone can help me. I have a Techno LC Series cnc router that I purchased in 2004. The CNC interface software that came with the machine was build #377 (or something like that). I run Mastercam V9 and use the TECHNO.pst file for post processing. I had to move twice in a year and on the first move, someone stole a bunch of stuff including the box that my Techno CD was in. Well needless to say my system crashed and Ive had to build a new computer to run the CNC. I had to go to Techno support and download their interface there (user interface ver. 1.423). Still using Mastercam V9 and I switched from Windows XP to Windows 7. So when trying to post, I get this error message:
Combined Mill and Lathe Post Processor Version 9.00r (c) Copyright 1992-2002 CNC Software, Inc.
Processing file with TECHNO...Illegal character $ on left side of equation.
Post line number 59
Program execution halted due to error(s) in .pst
Is there something I did wrong or a setting I have wrong or does the PST file need to be modified to work with the updated interface and/or Win 7. Any help to get my post processing functional again would be absolutely appreciated. Thank you.
