Does Mach3 recognize IF/THEN or goto expressions? I know they were used in ahha Designs Artisan program.

using linux ubuntu to dnc or upload files to fanuc 21i-TA
I have a Fanuc 21i-TA which can only use stupid money 3.3v SRAM cards, £832 for a 4mb card. It does have RS232 connection, but I only have access to PC's which have physical serial ports that are running Linuxmint which is basically tweaked and slightly modded Ubuntu. I have OneCNC DNC software but under Wine it will not see serial ports.
From research I believe that DNC software is basically the likes of Hyperterminal. And that any console software should be capable of firing files down a serial cable at 4800bps, 7bits, 2stop bits, even parity, software handshake as my panel requires. Surely this cannot be so difficult, but it is proving so!
Is there anyone who knows how to send and receive files via direct RS232 to a fanuc panel from linux. i am not interested in drip feeding DNC, but need a mechanism for getting NC files onto the controller.
Thanks in advance for any help given.

digital probe
Hi I was wondering for those who have a digital probe. If you have a recommendation. I look on ebay and there are some that are reasonable price. The question I do not know gcode and fairly new still. Where can I find the script or do I need someone to write it for me. thanks. Hope this is not asking a stupid question. I feel a little awkward in this part. Still navigating through when I have time. Thanks

New Machine Build Skateboard wheels fix to rotating shaft to push material along.
My prototype for a CNC needs to move the material along accurately. We cant clamp, so we have to lightly grip using rubber wheels.
We selected skateboard wheels as being easily available cheap initially for our prototype. I tried to find other feeding wheels but they were very expensive and not very flexible in terms of coupling materials.
Has anyone used skateboard wheels to push material along - I guess there might be accuracy issues - which I will learn about..
I need to clamp the wheel and couple it to a rotating shaft. A stepper motor will drive the shaft and force feed the material along.
Regular skateboard wheels use a 8mm internal x 22mm external diameter bearing and rotate on a fixed shaft.
Is their any neat solution to clamp the skateboard wheels to a 8mm shaft. I assumed I could pick up small hub that that would clamp the internal diameter (22mm) of the skateboard wheel to a a 8mm axle, but no avail. Now I could machine something up, but again, I thought I could get something ready to go off the shelf

Need Help! Collet Size vs. Bit Size
Hello, and thanks in advance for any and all assistance. I am just entering the world of CNC (woodworking), and recently purchased a used machine. The previous owner recently installed a Chinese made router. My question is concerning the collet- most of the router bits I'm familiar with have 1/4" shanks- this machine uses 6 MM shanks. I'm having trouble locating a 1/4" collet for this machine. Do most folks use metric bits? Are there metric collets that will work with 1/4" bits? What's the 'norm'? Thanks again. TS

Newbie Need help desperatly!!!
Hello all,
Finally got everything up and running again... after also replacing my vfd.... grr.. So now I am driving myself crazy breaking end mills. I am cutting annealed, squared w2 steel from new jersey steel baron. I have allowed access to a similar design and would be willing to give a knife away (if wanted) for help with this cam. It seems no matter what I try it just plunges the endmill into the piece breaking it. I'm up to 10in the last two days. I got the holes and outlines completed but the bevel is killing me. I used tormachs height gauge and verified height measurements twice. Heres the link. please help A360.

New Here Need Help with Wiring A Westwind spindle
Hello, I'm new here and looking for help, I have a WESTWIND P.N. 1201-19 SPINDLE 110,000 RPM came with connector with 6 small signal wires and the power wires
question is I can not find any wiring data online to tell me which wire is for what? I assume some of the wires are to turn on the spindle and speed control
and some activate the air for tool change, if you have any info it would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Hello!
Hi - By day, I'm an account manager...by night, I'm a dog trainer. My breed of choice is the Mastiff. I recently purchased a scroll saw and have been enjoying creating dogcentric art with it. And, just this week I got a CNC and am starting to make my way around it.
Thanks for having me!

Adding Dynapath 2000 to an old Cincinnati Mill
The boss purchased a new Dynapath 2000 cnc/plc to retrofit a old(1960s) Cincinnati mill. Also a used controller cabinet with AEG drives. He tore all the old electronics, hydraulics and lubrication off, built a mechanical counterweight and then hired me to put it all back together with the Dynapath. Everything has gone well to this point. I am working on the PLC program and have hit a roadblock with gear changing. The Dynapath uses a three bit binary code for gear change and the Cinci only has two gear and neutral. We have all the parameters set properly, but I am unsure how to handle the gear change in the PLC. The spindle speed needs to be reduced or increased to 5rpm then the gear change and the spindle speed either to 0 or next speed needed. Our low range is 1 to 300 rpm and high is 300 to 1970 rpm. Any help would be appreciated.
