Hello everyone!
My name is Igor I am an mechanical engineering student looking to build a compact tabletop CNC router.
I am on a budget but will buy things that are necessary.

I am buying a HobbyCNC Pro board already soldered and tested.

I also bought some stepper motors off ebay, they are Nema17. I am not sure they will work with the board but I got five of them for the price of one.
here are some specs:
Current 1.2A
Voltage 5.16V
1.8 deg / step
I believe these are about 29 oz/in uni-polar & 33.5 oz/in bi-polar
6 wire connection uni-polar or 4 wire connection bi-polar
width 42mm x 42mm
total length of 37.5 mm with damper 42.75
5 mm diameter shafts
shafts length 15mm
Weight 10 oz. 0
Pulley 9mm x 9.5mm dia. pitch on teeth is 3, can be remover with a $5.00 Harbor Freight nut splitter or a small gear puller or just ask and I will remove for you.
Connection wires provided
ORG – A-
BRN – A
RED – B
YLW – B-
BLK - COMMON
WTH – COMMON

I will be purchasing most of my supplies from Home Depot and/or Lowes. Planning to build a CNC with roughly 2'x4' work area. Material is going to be high quality wood or plexiglass.

Can confirm that the motors I purchased are going to work with the board? I realized later that they might be little small...
Also I am looking for cheap but reliable way to make linear guide rails using materials from hardware stores.

Thank you,

Igor
