We have a 7000 Series Multicam Router and am having problem with running programs in our machine.
We are running our programs by DNC from a desktop computer which is run through an interface/utility software called Job Console to our machine. Job Console allows us to see the progam while it being run and also allows us to jump through the program and start in the middle of the program similar to a control on a CNC lathe or CNC mill. How it works is you open up the Job Console software, opens up the program that we created and then sends it to the machine. There is a also a feature of this software called Job Editor which allows you to change programs if need and the re-load it back into job console.
A few days ago we ran into a problem where the program that we created would change when it was loaded into Job Console but would still look good in the Job Editor. It would change feedrates, combines lines of code, lose G41's, lose manreadables, etc.
We eventually came to realize that the program would get messed up when we had a cutter diameter compensation value entered for a tool on the T-Pad. If there is no cutter comp value the program loads fine into Job Console. We tried loading the program into Job Console before changing cutter comp value on the T-Pad but as soon as that cutter comp value changes, it also changes the program on Job Console and the program runs fine if there is no cutter comp value. Basically we can't use cutter comp.
We need to use cutter comp and be able to adjust them on the jobs that we are wanting to run on this machine and not sure what to do or what the problem is. We contacted the Multicam vendor here in Canada and their tech dept was of little help after 2 or 3 days. Anybody have an ideas, solutions, who to contact, etc. Thanks!
