I've run a small Okuma for maybe 100 hours, and a Puma 12L for maybe 1k, and programmed for both, have had and used Acad for years, played with some demo cam prog's, but never been on the ground level of making the cad/cam/dongle/postp/control connection thing all work together. The pc I have has a copy of featurecam on it, no dongle. I've played around learning that for a while, of course it asks about a dongle on startup and it's only a learning tool without it.
So, that and a recent episode with GSimple leads me to my first topic here, getting a cam to talk to a control. Learning this centering on the Matsuura MC500V is first up. Gsimple of course doesn't list the MC500V so how does that work.
I know I can't afford it at this point, but getting set up with a dongle for featurecam would include purchasing a new copy of the program or what?
