Your thoughts please on this crazy adapter idea:
I found this 3/8" shaft to 3/4-16 stainless steel adapter below from High Tech Systems LLC:

Would like to attach my 3" Sherline 3 Jaw Chuck (3/4-16 thread) on one end and a Tormach TTS adapter (3/8" bore set screw holder) on the other end.

Do you think the adapter is strong enough? My mill is an X3 with 2K RPM. I would be machining aluminum and plastic with the chuck.
I'm essentially trying to make this Tormach TTS boring arbor below but with a 3/4-16 thread instead of the stock 7/8-20 thread.

Another thought is maybe buy the Tormach adapter and have someone machine the 7/8-20 thread into a 3/4-16 thread. Is this pratical for some with a lathe to do and how much would it probably cost? Any takers (please PM)?
THanks!
