...no clear answers!
I searched and read through coolant threads for an hour and am no closer to picking one. Literally every single post has a different recommendation. When I started seeing the same coolant mentioned, it was the same person posting in multiple threads.
I need a flood coolant for my PCNC1100 Series 2. Here are the requirements listed by priority:
-Low smell. This machine is in my garage and I can't be stinking up the house.
-Low maintenance. I do milling on the weekends and maybe in the evenings - that's it. I don't want a coolant that I'll need to skim, bubble, and recycle every week.
-Non toxic to my skin.
-I machine aluminum 95% of the time. Then Delrin and steel. A good surface finish would be nice.
-Won't dissolve the paint on my machine. The previous owner used the Tormach Premier 600 coolant and the paint is bubbling in a few locations. I'd like to keep that to a minimum.
-Available online in [1 gallon] jug?
Now I realize this is basically a list of what coolant is designed to do. So, what is the best all around compromise?
