my name is Eli,
I am still pretty new to the world of CNC machines and Laser engravers,
recently I purchased a ZTGD-4028D Artware Engraving Machine from a fellow who didnt need it anymore for his business in LA,...
He gave me the basic run down on the software, instillation, usb dongle, etc etc and some basic operation of the machine before I packed it up and brought it home,
but now that I am having problems with it, I (of course) cant seam to reach him... grrr...
for the first month or so it seamed to work just great,
Asides from not being able to follow curves, and only using the vertical or horizontal access (posted an earlier post about that)
and that it would mess up 1 in 10 projects but the horizontal or vertical access being shifted slightly over the image resulting in a fragmented jumble of imagery....
but now it has ceased working entirely ...
Im guessing it has something to do with the USB dongle ? its light turned off about a week ago and it doesnt seam to do anything anymore, and now im being prompted for a registration and serial key, when you hit (try for 90 days) it goes back to the ArtGrave software, this was working for about a day,
now every time I click on the "calculate laser path" and "send path to laser" buttons no window comes up, nothing happens,..... I tried reinstalling the software and that didnt help, so I tracked down an old XP CD, and reformatted, and that helped for one project, and now the buttons are unresponsive again =(
so thats my basic situation, most of the help and files are in Chinese and so are most of the scroll over txt for buttons and information.
I have just a few questions, as this is my main income from this machine right now, and X-mas shows are coming up, I really need to get this thing working again or im going to be out on the street come the 1st of the year =(
has Anyone had experience with this particular machine, or software?
does anyone here know about how to bypass all the security of the machine and run new software to it?
one of my friends mentioned he heard about someone buying an older machine and switching out the motherboard and newer software, but im not even sure where to start on that....
any help would be much much appreciated,
and if anyone is in the Southern California are and think they might be able to help, I could pay/write contract for % of my sales, or something similar to work out compensation......
