I just purchased a PCNC 1100... Previously purchased by turbostang. I have the power drawbar, ATC, 4th Axis, deluxe stand.... machine is 4 months old.
We just got the machine in Sunday night, did a little cleaning on the stand tonight, hopefully will get it all re-assembled soon.
In the process of transport we damaged 3 parts... all pretty minor.
1.) Z axis limit/home switch
2.) Lube line that goes from the back of machine to under the bed...
3.) Wiring for the foot-pedal.
I think I will need to get the lube line fixed before re-assembly ... it appears that I will need to access the end of it from underneath the mill (before attaching it to the stand).
......................
I did not receive any CAD/CAM software with the machine... I have a CNC table that I do plasma cutting and oxy/acetyl cutting (4' x 8')... I have used CorelDraw to create my designs.. and sheetcam for my CAM. I also own a seat of Alibre Design ... haven't gotten it all figured out yet.
I would like to get input from those with experience... as to what I should (and should not) consider using for CAM software. Turbostang was using BobCad v25 and had good things to say about it. My budget is limited and I am not willing (able) to drop too many $$$ on it.
.....
I am a complete noob to milling (have read a lot about it)... I have a background in computers, and general metal fabrication. But I have a son and a nephew that have both completed a two year vocational course in CNC machining... hopefully with their help I can figure it out... and maybe a lot of input from the community here :-)
Since I have one specific topic in this message I am asking for input on (CAM/CAD software)... and also the general intruction of myself and my machine... not sure if I should have split these up into two separate posts or not??? At any rate, I look forward to all the good input from you guys!
Regards,
Curtis
