Hey everyone,
Im going to be buying a 12x24 or 12x36 lathe, and looking to save some money on the stand by building one myself.
My though was to use 3x3 wood posts for the 4 corners, and 2 3/4" thick pieces of 4" wide plywood on both sides of all posts, on the top, middle and bottom to make the base.
Does that sound sturdy enough to hold a 1,000 lb lathe properly?
In addition to saving money, I also think the wood may help with vibration.
Any thoughts?
