New 3 phase stepper motors

I recently purchased a Tormach PCNC 1100 series 1. One of the main differences between mine and the newest Series 3 is the addition of "superior" 3 phase stepper motors. They're supposed to be smoother, faster, more accurate, cooler, and quieter than our beloved 2 phase motors. Ive wondered about upgrading my system, but at $1600 is it really that big of an improvement? I could switch to a full servo system for less than that.
