On my lathe, there is an occassional rpm spike in Mach. I never really worried about it because it wasn't relavent to what I would normally do. I would usually thread manually but I am trying to perform a threading operation using wizards. It seems that this spike in rpm which can be seconds or minutes in between, 'confuses' the program. The Z will sometimes make several passes, and then halfway through another will freeze the stepper motor. The DRO still registers movement, but the axis motor just freezes and starts "buzzing". I can't remember which wizard it is but there was one I used of several, that seemed to be unaffected by this glitch. Has anyone encountered this? Any suggestions would be appreciated. P. S. The trigger I am using is a CNC4PC C3 card with optical pick up. Thanks, gttnold.
