I am the owner of a very small company in Lyman Wyoming. I have been making kydex holsters and other odds and ends. Recently i decided to start making my own AR600 armor inserts for plate carriers using my Cutmaster 52. It has proven to be time consuming to cut these out using stencils that i made and have been looking in to making my own cnc plasma table with a 4x8 ft cutting area. With this being said i figured it would be fun to also get into making decorative metal signs and other stuff with the machine. My problem starts with me not really knowing where to start with the build or where to find plans for a table and also how to make my cutmaster 52 cnc compatible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh and i had purchased a controller kit from Buildbotics.com that i was going to use for the controller part of the build.

New To The Forums to Would like to introduce myself & say Hi !
Just like to say Hi :)
From the UK and have a few years under my belt working on both CNC milling and Turning machines with knowledge
of Fanuc , offline programming and have since over the years currently program through OneCNC
basic compared to things like EdgeCam but does the job.
Be nice to one day get myself maybe a Haas Mini Mill in the near future to work from home,
Currently looked into the Tormach 770 and 1100,
I see a few of you UK guys have one.
Currently converting a X2 to the hossman with 16 pocket tool changer with changes like linear rails ...
on going project :D
couple things Im working on atm a EDC Utility knife with my own custom Anodising
tool less blade change https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ingy3NXUweE
thanks for looking

Need Help! Fanuc 31i - ftp connection
Hello,
We have a fanuc cnc 31i model A controller.
They asked me to make a webapplication to send the tooloffset.txt file to the controller via ftp.
I have tried connecting to the cnc with filezilla and i have tried to connect my laptop to the back ethernet port of the controller and tried to gain access that way, but with no success.
I know that fanuc has the Program transfer tool, but we want to make our own.
So my question is: Is this posible, if so how can i achieve this.
Im new to this stuff so i don't know much about it.
Greetings,
ExoDragon

Considering CNC Punch Machine
Hello all!
I'm a small fabricator of light gauge architectural metals specific to the roofing, waterproofing & masonry industries. I have a need for mass production of slotted drain bar for green roofs and the need to cut out patterns using prepainted metals. I work with aluminum 024 to 063, steel 28 to 20 gauge and stainless 015 to 024.
Do I really need to purchase a $150k machine or are there other options out there?
All input is welcome. Thank you in advance.

Hobbymat md65 poor surface finish
Hi I'm hoping someone can help me.
I cant seem to get a nice smooth finish on my parts. I have a md65 lathe I'm hoping someone may have the same or similar lathe
I'm not sure how to adjust the screws under the cross slide (not sure of this is the cause of the issue) and I have noticed some play in the X direction. Not sure this is normal but any advice would be great.

I have a Mazak SQT 30MS, lost the parameters, input them manually, and have an alarm 218 chuck not selected.
Have played with switch on the side, select type internal/external and the opening /closing but no Joy.
Is there a parameter I need to change to state it is a collet chuck? Changed R49 to add a "1" , I am sure this is for bar feed open /close.Do not I need to change any others..
Any assistance greatly apprecaited
Thanks

Looking for Syil or Tormach style 4th axis 4 to 6 inch
Hi. looking for a relatively inexpensive 4th axis rotary table, like the type used by Syil, Tormach and other small to mid-size machines.
For use with CNC 4th axis.
I have a budget of $200 to $300 if anyone has one that never gets used and would part with.
Thanks,
Bryan

Syntec 6MB Networking
I've hit a wall trying to get my Syntec 6MB controller networked. I've followed the manuals and the threads here, but I keep getting the error that it's unable to connect to the network.
The computer I'm trying to network is Windows XP. I changed the computer name to OMNI. I created a shared folder C:\OMNIFILES. I set the IP address to 169.254.161.171, subnet mask to 255.255.0.0.
On the controller, I set the PC name to OMNI. I set the Dir Name to OMNIFILES. I set IP address to 169.254.161.177, subnet mask to 255.255.255.0. I also have Default gateway as 169.254.161.177.
I bought a D-link 5-port switch and cabled the controller and the PC to the switch (and nothing else).
I can ping the controller from the PC successfully. But I still get the error: Code 1222 The network is unreachable.
I also tried connecting the PC directly to the controller, and that doesn't work either.
I'm not sure what I'm getting wrong.

Problem HAAS VF7 Program "Jumping"
Thanks everyone for looking into this post and for any information you can offer. I am currently having issues with our VF7 machine we are experiencing program "jumping" while running a program. By this I mean that we could be running say "Program A" and randomly throughout the code, it will change in the top program title to reflect that it is running Program B. It does not actually run this other program it finishes running the one we originally started in, and when it finishes displays Program A again in the title block. The interesting thing is the programs are located on a hard drive that is mapped to the CNC, so it is pulling the programs up from separate folders on this hard drive and displaying it is running them when it is in face not running them. I wanted to get a good idea of what would cause this and if one day we could see it actually run the program that randomly displays, I think we all know how awful that could be. Does anyone have any idea how this could have happened? I want to get a better understanding of this I sure do not enjoy not knowing what is going on with this machine.

Chinese BT30 Retrofit in PCNC 1100
After several years with my PCNC1100 series 3, the ONLY major complaint I have is with tool pullout using TTS and a power drawbar (don't have or want ATC at the moment). Just had a .25" EM pullout ALOT on a relatively mild cut in A36. So, I would love to buy Tormach's BT30 spindle but without a power drawbar, it's useless and I'm frankly a bit tired of waiting for them to provide some relief for those of us cutting things harder than Aluminum. Recently I have found many Chinese BT30 spindles with compressed air drawbars on AliExpress. The dimensions appear to be close to a drop in on the 1100 but I was wondering if anyone has retrofit their 1100 with one? If so, how did it work and fit. Here's the type of spindle I am referring to.

Problem x-axis zero adjustment
Hello!
We have a seiki HiCell 23B machine; after a failure, the zero point has shifted along the X axis by 2 mm.
The procedures described in the documentation do not help to eliminate the difference of 2 mm.

Need Help! Help! Amp meter shows power has dropped off.
I have a Black and Red, originally with a 60W tube.
About a year ago I upgraded it to a 100W Reci tube and DY10 PS and installed a mA meter.
It's been running fine but it the mA meter started showing ~10mA at 65% power where that would register 25mA in the past.
The tube's still generating a purple beam and the PS test button lights up the test LED nice a bright.
At this point, I'm not sure if the problem is the Tube, the PS, the mA meter any or all of them and someone elsewhere suggested a bad PS supply can kill the tube.
Any suggestions before I start ordering replacement parts would be appreciated.

Defiance DMC 2001 Need Help to figure out a problem
Just got that magic machine from auction. After start up and home axis got FAULT:AIR PRESSURE. I got schematic and controller manuals but there only 1 pressure sensor in machine and fully functional cause I see INPUTS from menu and it changed if disconect a pressure, even if short a sensor(switch) port belong to change value. Now I got no idea where problem should be. May be some one familiar with that type of machines?

One side error
Hi
I'm fairly new to cnc but have a history with 3d printers. I'm getting a problem where one side of my project shifts during the cut. At first I thought it was skipping steps but the opposite side is ok. Can anyone provide any insight into what I should adjust? I've included 2 photos of simple box and circle designs.
Thanks
Matt

Need Help! 400 Series Stainless bending after machining
Starting with .145 thick 400SS water jet from sheet.
Rough stock is 12"x2.
Using a 5" 45 degree face mill to machine back about 8" on both sides.
Cutting a 1.72 degree angle on both sides, .045 thick on one side, .145 on the other.
Would predrilling a bunch of small holes on both sides to just above final depth help with the stress relieving?

Newbie Ref All Home Button Not Working Right
I am finally getting around to setting my machine up. It is a 6040 from CNCEST, it is USB, and I am using Mach3. First, I installed and set up my limit switches, all in series and normally closed, and they worked good. When I hit the Ref All Home button, it would home the Z axis, then the Y, and then the X. After homing, the switches then worked as limit switches. After spending a week or so getting everything else set up, just when I thought I was ready to start cutting, when I now hit the Ref All Home button, instead of taking the Z axis home, the Y axis drives all the way to the back, hitting the switch, and instead of acting as a home switch, it acts as a limit switch, and stops everything until I physically move it off of the switch and hit reset. I looked at the script for the Ref All Home button, and it was as it should be. What would cause this, and what can I do to fix it.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
