Hello,

I recently discovered due to this board customers from around the world have contacted us to build a custom Teach Pendant, Data Terminal, CNC Controller, Handheld Computer, HMI, Operator Interface, rugged industrial handheld for their applications. Whatever you may call it.Thanks to a single THREAD post by MCPservices post back in 2014 about our company he has helped tons of customers from around the globe find our Rugged Customizable Handheld and Panel Mount Data Terminals. With company's like Beijer and the Qterm product and most companies that have gone end of life we have never discontinued making these Terminals. Engineers have been scrambling surplus sites and ebay to find these terminals to replace their existing terminals.

We manufacture customizable, rugged handheld terminals and panel mount terminals that can be customized to suit your application from robotics to CNC. You can actually create your own intuitive keypad that will work seamlessly with your application. You can completely white label your Terminal to match your brand or product or your customers brand. You can choose from 10 base models, your case color, logo tags, custom membrane or elastomeric keypad or standard keypad, voltage, interface, cables, protective boots, holsters and motion control with options to have an Emergency Stop Button and even a Liveman switch. You can set up your own Key Output and Key Labeling and add your own keypad colors. All of this with a 3 Year warranty out of the gate and quality manufactured in the USA.

Message me if we can help you build your own Handheld or Panel Mount Terminal. Thank you to MCPservice!!

Can't get Thunderlaser's Nova 35 to work - mistake buying from them?

Hi folks,

I’m a recent buyer of the Nova 35 from Thunderlaser after reading positive reviews on this forum. Unfortunately getting it to run has been a bit of a challenge and since unpacking it 2 weeks ago, I’ve yet to actually get it to work. Still talking with their tech support but their response time is absolutely atrocious, despite my pleas to get someone on video chat or at least be more responsive due to the hour differences. Anyhow, I’m hoping the kind experts on here might have an idea of what’s wrong.

The error I’m seeing on the display is “Water Error” right as I start the job. The CW5000 is on and connected to the machine:

I checked the black cable between the cooler and the laser to see if it’s bad: it has 3 pins and 2 of them have connectivity while the 3rd does not. I looked inside and there are 2 wires in the cable, that seems to suggest that the 3rd pin isn’t used by design. Can anyone confirm?

I also checked the wiring on the machine:

Everything seems to be in place to my beginner’s eyes.

I am running out of ideas and getting really frustrated with Thunderlaser’s poor handling of the situation. I knew I was taking a risk by getting a machine from China, but didn’t quite expect this.

Hoping someone around here has an idea of what to check next. Thanks all.

Surfacing aluminum with 2.2kw spindle. Best tool for the job?

After some reasearch it seems an actual face mill is out of the question for an er20. What's the next best thing? I'm already getting great results with just a quarter inch endmill, but I wouldn't mind improving it with a wider cut and better use of the tool rather than dulling just the tip. I was gonna order a half inch stub end mill to have specifically for facing but I figured I would ask first. Are there better options? Larger than half inch cut? Smoother finish than and end mill would give? Maybe a flycutter of some sort? The 6k minimum rpm is obviously also a limiting factor with larger diameter. If I am limited to half inch max cut, would an insert tool make more sense? If it gave equal or better surface as an end mill, I imagine replacing inserts is more economical. Open to suggestions

Rant What issues have you had with your tool plate / ordering on line

The below is a copy from another thread, which has gone off topic.

‘When xxxx came out with his fixture plates and all of his fan boys began to slam Tosa Tool I figured "wow, this is a real issue". I hired a QC/Customer service gal to deal with these issues directly each day. I posted her address on all of the bulletin boards and expected tons of email from all of these people who were hyping Xxxx and blasting me.’

Dan if you are serious about your customer service and want to sort the issues out, I offer this challenge up; agree to let people post up their issues and you can explain your side of the story. However you need to understand that people have been seriously frustrated with TT, so expect some heat!

I will ask that anyone and yourself that has had an issue to be factual and leave the personal attacks out. However you MUST agree not to run to the moderators and have the entire thread removed because you don’t like the facts. Quite a few threads that mention TT have been removed previously, obviously should anyone stray or break the forum rules those posts can be asked to be removed but, but the request is limited to the post and not the entire thread - unless the moderator has a different view... as we are obviously all guests here.

If we can agree as gentleman on the above, then I will take the time to document my issues, both past and remaining. the forum can decide in their own minds. But it will be open and transparent, and if you take away an understanding of the customer issues people have and work to have those fixed to their satisfaction then I see it as a win-win.

If you don’t agree that’s ok too - but please don’t waste everyone’s time by saying yes, have people air their concerns and have the tread pulled.

Let me know and I will start the ball rolling.
Cheers,
Adrian

Anyone here used Centroid's digitize?
I got my first piece digitized fine.
The problem I have is not being able to find out what programs and procedures to use to convert the dig file to something that can be used in a CAD program.
Anyone been down this road already?
Thanks for any help or tips.

Hiwin HG20 grease fittings???

I found another thread on this but no real solution. I want to put grease nipples on all of my bearing blocks. I looked up the specs and found that the blocks take m6x0.75mm zerk type fittings. Pulling the plugs out I see the threads appear straight. Has anyone put grease fittings on these things? Where do you get them? I need like 10 of them. Seems silly to post this but I have searched and searched with no luck. I found a couple tapered m6x0.75 fittings but nothing with straight thread. Are people using the tapered thread? Thanks!

Need Help! Fusion post processor for a milling machine and FC?

I have a typical 3 axis milling machine. It does have an 8 tool changer etc. It runs FC 4.5. I am trying to get my machine to respond correctly. I was told by FC that I needed to edit the post processor to disable G54-59. Can anyone verify this is the case or why? Does the controller take precedent if so? There are fixture offsets within the controller.

Need Help! I need the vendor settings file for BODOR BCL1006XUF Laser with Ruida RDC6442S board

$

Hi everyone,

I have a BODOR BCL1006XUF, 80W CO2 laser machine.

Unfortunatly I lost the file with the vendor settings for my laser machine and I'm really desperate. I tried to contact the seller but they told me that they didn't have the file for my machine because it is an old machine (since 2016).

Can someone please send me the file of the vendor settings, or screenshots of the X and Y axis settings, so I can set the correct parameters?

Here are some details about my laser machine:

BODOR BCL1006XUF
80W CO2
1000 x 600 mm working table
Motherboard: RDC6442S(EC)
Microstep driver: 3DM783 (from JMC)
Stepper motor: 57J1276-526-L-B1
PC-Software: RDWorks V8.01.10

Unfortunatly my laser machine seems losing steps, only sometimes and totaly random and I'm thinking that this is because of the parameters. You can check the issue in the attached pictures.
Also you can see in this video (minute 0:43 , 1:43, 1:49 or 3:19) what it is happening during cutting:

So, if someone has the same laser machine, please help me with the vendor settings for X and Y axis.

Thank you to all of you,
Cris
