Hi Folks,
I have had my X2 for for a while now and last year converted to CNC using the CNC Fusion kit powering it with a Gecko G540 controller. I have not used the X2 much because the size is very limiting. However several years ago I was planning on making a wood router table and purchased used linear rails of Ebay.
I did not want to take apart my machine because I will need it to make parts for the new table, so I was thinking of using the rails I already have to make a larger table.
Here are some pics of the rails and pillows that I have had and they are made by IKO that I want to use, they are pretty hefty but do you think they will work out for a cnc metal machine? One of the pillow is 4 inches long so two will be about 8 inches and the rails on the y axis is 19 inches, hoping that will give me about 10' of travel for the y. The x axis rails are 29 inches long and will separate the square pillows to get around 20-21 inches. The rails are 3/4 square.
Thanks for any comment or tips you may have,
Vic
