I have been looking into buying or building a cnc router. I love building things and the more I look into it the more it doesn't sound like french to me. I scrounged a part off a machine at work that they were throwing away. It has inch and a quarter acme threaded rods with anti-backlash nuts. They are a little over 4' long and the nuts are fastened together with a square tube. Would these be accurate enough for a hobby cnc? They have been used for years in an industrial environment. I mainly plan on cutting out parts for my woodworking hobby and making signs.
