Greetings,
I'm interested in laser cutting and my web searching skills have let me down on finding a good "how to get started guide".
I'm looking to work with wood, maybe 2-3mm in thickness to make 3d models out of. My to biggest questions are what type of system is good to start with and what type of wood to use? I've seen some laser cutters on EBay that aren't too expensive but I'm not sure if that's the best route. I was also looking at MDF for wood but I haven't found a place to order it in the states.
Sadly my skills are not good enough to build a laser cutter like I've seen some people build on Youtube, or at least not good enough to make it the cheaper option.
I would also like to keep the option open to sell some of what I make at local fairs and what not to help cover the cost of the system. This there anything I should be concerned about with laser cutting? I really can't think of any...
