Cracking open a 4 wire stepper to alter its phasing.

Hi all,

Usually if a stepper has a high inductance and a high voltage rating it would be wired in series.
If it has low inductance and low voltage rating it would wired in parallel.

Simple ohms law stuff, right?

Lets say you lumped yourself with some motors which you cant get rid off without incurring a heavy loss (a lemon).

Question is;

What would be stopping you from cracking open a 4 wire motor with internal series wiring, snipping the coil wiring, scraping of the resin at the tip and resoldering in a parallel configuration?

Effectively making lemonade from the lemon.

Possible, yeah?
