I'm trying to use HSM Express for the first time, and am having a problem where my toolpaths all seem to start too high off the part. I'm sure it's a simple setting, but I don't know what it would be called.
For example, I'm cutting a 2D pocket on a job with no additional stock, and using model and orientator to the top plane- which I can see is correctly at the top of the part. But then when I go to make the 2d pocket operation, I can see that the tool path starts almost .25" above the part, though the toolpath goes to the bottom of the pocket properly.
Heights are set as follows:
Clearance: 0.1" from retract
Retract: 0.1 from model top
Feed height: .005 from top
Top: 0 from model top
bottom: from contour
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
