I know, I know, but it worked so well for so long......until tonight.
Here is my problem. Ran a program and returned to 0,0,0 for a tool change, all manual of course. Changed the bit and on my machine I built in a switch for setting my tool tip to a know location, so I hit my set tool button and rather than lower onto the switch, the z axis began to do something like quick reversals. I tried to clear it, but before I could get anything done I got a screen that popped up telling me Mach and performed an illegal function and would shut down. The problem is, it never shut completely down and I had to power the computer off to get it to clear. Rebooted, loaded machmill again, started to reference the axis and the z axis will only go down. The reference move is up. So, I turn everything off again, reboot, load machmill again, and this time go to mdi and try to move the z axis manually with a g91 move of only .25". Once it started to move it did not stop until I shut the power off. I tried all this again only this time I tried to move the machine using jog.......z axis only moves down regardless if I hit the positive or negative move button!
Anyone else ever have anything like this? It almost sounds like a confusion of step and direction signals? Anyone?
Mike
