Problem Machining 8620 normalized bar stock

Hello team,

I am new to this forum, but decided to tap into some others brains for tips and techniques. While machining normalized 8620, we get a large diameter of material built up at the back of the rough bore. We drill a 2.75 hole, then rough bore it out to 3.375 before finishing on the opposite side. On the back of the part, the material just pushes out, but never breaks. Does anybody have any tricks to eliminate this built up material? We are currently using a CNMG432 style insert, with a 5 degree face relief. My next attempt is to face off the end first, then flip the part over. Maybe with the machined face, the material will cut instead of push. Anyway, and ideas will be considered.
