Problem X7 Ref Guide Location & Solid Model for Material

Two questions..
1. I can't find the Reference Guide in X7 anywhere. Is it not included now as a *.pdf?
The included help files don't help at all with the new toolpaths or my problem with....

2. I can't seem to figure out how to import and use an *.STL or other solid model as a
blank material for toolpaths. And when I do get an STL into the workspace or verify
window I can't make it go away, or hide it.

Have a big part and without the blank I'm going to actually use (think casting), I'm
cutting a lot of air.

I'm also using Windows 8 (sorry. couldn't help it)
