Hi all
I have an Amada IW-45 NC hydraulic Ironworker and love it. It has a turntable with 6 tools on it. I can punch, shear, notch and bend flat plate, channel, and angle iron. It has a 8 foot servo driven x axis that is used as a moveable hard stop for material placement
The problem is that the NC controller is going out. When I turn it on, it takes several times turning it on and off before it actually starts. It is getting worse.
Amada is not too much help, as this is a Japan only machine.
I know I can remove all the NC controller and replace it with Mach 3, but I am trying to keep away from that.
I would like to replace the controller with another better controller. I am just not sure what I need, or where to start.
I have built my own 6 x 12 cnc flame and plasma cutter, and repaired a large Hurco mill. So If I can get pointed in the right direction I am good to go.
Any ideas on what to replace the controller with?
Steve
