I've recently purchased an 8x4 router kit and while I am waiting for it to arrived I have been looking at software packages. It seems like every CAD packages has a free trial version but it just takes so long to properly test out a CAD package so now I am turning to the community for some recommendations.
My considerations when choosing:
- The software is mainly to be used for drawing furniture - tables, cabinets and storage units
- We are in the price range of $500 or below
- The learning curve is not a problem as long as there is good selfstudy material
- A basic support for assemblies/part libaries would be really nice
- Must work well with one of the cheaper CAM packages
I have attached to example pictures of the type of object I might be trying to model.
At the moment I have already looked at FreeCAD and discarded that as an option.
