Recently I just started working at a new company that has all Haas machines. Ive been running an EZPATH bridgeport lathe for the last 7 years so this is a little different to me and the guy I work with really doesnt have much clue on what he is doing and no tools or anything have ever been setup on the machine, he uses it for manual purposes. I havent run the Haas controls before, so I am a little confused by something that seems really trivial but its bugging me to death. Im terrible at describing stuff, so let me try getting an example here.
I want to turn a part that is 5" and we will pretend im at z0.
My first cut hypothetically is 4.9 for the od turn going -2" on z.
How do I get to see those actual numbers on the position readout? Also, I know I will sound like an idiot here, but am I correct in thinking I wont change the offset unless my part needs minor fine tuning, say I am .005 to big, Id adjust the offset in use to -.0025. Is that the extent that I will be using the offsets for?
Currently it reads like this...and I very much would like to be able to see the actual programmed position. 20130828_130555.jpg
