Hi all,
If a customer sends you a file to be laser-cut or engraved (ex files: .eps, .pdf, .dxf, etc.).... how do you produce a quote?
For online instant-quote purposes, I've already developed some software that can take a file and determine 'roughly' the total length of cutting required, as well as total area to be engraved. Then based on the material and thickness (which affect cutting speed), these numbers could then be used to calculate a quote. But my method is far from perfect and inexact.... so I'm curious how you "pros" do it?
Quicker the better, of course, and any automated ways of doing this is even better! :-)
