Hi All;
I have a Macturn 250W with an E100L control that is having troubles with the A turret tool changer. It simply stalls in the middle of a tool change; sometimes the arm swings to the spindle, other times it just sits there.
The diagnostics screen says: "EA TURN TO 360 DEGREE POSITION NOT COMPLETED".
If I wait for it to time out I get: "3734 ALARM C ATC STEP OVER TIME 610"
The ATC status page shows it is at sequence #10. The EC servo position always shows the angle at 0.000 when parked.
Sometimes it will manually reverse using the single step button, other times not. I have to manually set the sequence # to 9 and it will move. I have the "CAM" type changer (big, square box as opposed to the long skinny one). The logic table says it is looking for confirmation from "EA RETURN POSITION" and "EA ROTATION COMPLETE" I have searched the machine, schematics and parts book and can't find a sensor anywhere on the CAM. I am wondering if the control is only using the encoder and toggling outputs when a motion is complete. I can't find any reference to the EA logic being done by hardware. If it was a software bit, I doubt I would be having trouble right now.
It went from being intermittent Wed AM to happening every tool change attempt in the PM.
I am waiting for support from my dealer but historically it has been painful dealing with them. They wouldn't even return my calls today.
Any clues on where to troubleshoot next would be very much appreciated.
