Newbie Introduction

Hi to all,

I have always been interested in creating things by hand and from scratch. Recently I started fishing again and wanted to buy an electric line spooler for my fishing reels, I couldn't believe how much they were charging ($500 - $thousands). Thus, I decided to build my own because not all parts are readily available for purchase. In short, I am hoping to learn from all of you guys.
