Hi I have a VMC with Mitsubishi M520AM control.
I'm pulling my hair out trying to set my part zero position. There's a work offsets screen where I can enter the XYZ values in G54, 55 etc, but are these for entering the machine co-ordinates of the position I want?
Do I have to manually compensate for the tool length offset when setting the work origin? Or does the control take into account the H value? If so, is a toolchange (or a G43) necessary before setting the work origin?
I'm probably missing something really simple here. I'd ideally like to jog the current tool tip to my chosen origin, set the position and have the control account for the current tool length.
Can anyone with a meldas control give me a step-by step of how they set part zero after homing the machine?
thanks!
