Hey All!
So my machine is not a bridgeport, but more like a clone.
I am totally stripping my machine to the last bolt, cleaning it, replacing worn out parts, and reassembling it with new electronics also. THIS IS A CNC KNEE MILL.
So I got most of the machine apart as you can see from the pictures, but as I try to remove the top casting (which covers the variable speed drive belt) it won't come off. Am I missing something? There is one part that is sticking out of the casting, this is the brake for tool changes, and yet I don't see how they got it on let alone how they can get it off (chair).
From what I can tell there are 4 T-bolts that come from the top of casting and the nuts are below (first picture). I loosed all those and the head can freely spin 360* no problem, but when I try to lift up, this part (2nd photo) prevents it. There are keys in the casting that prevent me from just sliding it to the right ;(
PLEASE ANYONE HELP?
If I get no help I will have to just cut slots around it so it can freely slide off.
Thanks!
