Nearly 7 months after my last update and a lot has happened with the kitchen. For the most part it is complete (about 99.9%) and has been well recieved by family, friends and most importantly, my wife. I had been keeping regular updates going until I got a virus and lost alot of the pictures I had taken during the remodel. What you see here are flooring pictures, but taken after the job was completed, not inprocess like most of the others had been.
The floor is a laminate flooring that we got from Lowes. Under it, there is a thin layer of foam padding to help silence the floating floor. The floor simply locks together with sort of a tongue and groove effect. I left a gap of about 1/4" all the way around the room between the floor and wall for possible expansion. We have a similar floor in one of the bedrooms and it has lasted 12 years now with no visible signs of wear. Hopefully this will wear as well.
