I've viewed this site for about a year now and thought it's time to join the club.
IT / electro-mechanical specialist for the past 25 years. I've experimented with and designed small electronic circuit boards, programmed micro-controllers with Assembly (prefer Microchip brand micro-controllers), and played around with lasers, RC helicopters, and occasionally repaired home appliances.
While I have used 2-D CAD programs for about 2 decades, this past year I purchased Solidworks Premium 3-D CADD and have loved using it every minute. For years I have pondered the benefits of having my own CNC machine and am trying to decide if I should purchase or build a model. May go back to school in the fall to enroll in a Machinists certification program.
