Ok I need help since I can't seem to figure my endmill breaking problem. Here is my situation. First I'm using a Syil X4 standard cnc, with Mach3 and BobCAM v25 (which is much improved)
I'm using .032 flat stock brass 360 and I have a .200 long slot that is .050 wide. I'm using a .050 HSS 4 flute endmill protruding .4 from tool holder. I've used GWizard to help with the calculations, since my own didn't work. The mil makes the first rough pass then snap. Do I need a harder tool?
Tool Dia. .050
Flutes = 4
Stickout = .4
Cut width = .05
RPM = 5000
cut depth = .034
results in:
IPM = 8.92
SFM = 65
Feed per Tooth = .0001
Plunge FPT = .0001
Cut Feed Rate = 2.23
Plunge FR = 2.5
Warning Chipload is low.
