Problem ruled surfaces and sufaces

Need help on how to do ruled surfaces. finding it hard to draw geometry,

im unsure on changing Cpls.

does the two entitys you draw have to be 1 whole line? eg arc straightline arc. if so how do you make them join?

at the moment the surface twists when I try.

please help if you can!
