Hi,
This is almost definitely a noob question ...... please try and bear with me as I'm new in this neck of the woods and may ask a couple silly Q's :)
So..... I got a sherline lathe and mill (all CNC ready). I've already assembled all the equipment, no problem. The issue is when it came to installing the software. I've got The latest Ubuntu available installed on my computer but when I insert the installation disc provided by Sherline for EMC it just sits there and does absolutely nothing in my side bar. Even after looking for the EMC installation files on the disk, there seems to be absolutely none.
Maybe its because of my noobidity to ubuntu and the whole linux environment but.............how the hell do i install EMC from the disc supplied from sherline? there really doesnt seem to be any setup file (or any executable file for that matter) or even folder that has anything to do with EMC.
I will probably feel like an idiot when the solution is so obvious but I'm at the end of my tether with this thing. Can anyone please help, provide advice or atleast point me in the right direction on how to get this done or understand what needs to be done.
Thanks,
Chubb
