I did a search but perhaps I couldn't word my query properly to yield the right answers. I am considering making my own milling machine. I am still in the conceptual stages. one thing I can't find a clear answer to is how much force is applied to the mill while cutting. particularly steel since it probably applies the most force. I am sure it varies with different grades and depth of cut and feed rate and end mill size etc. but let's just say cutting 0.10 per pass. or any scenario with different variables. I have seen/heard of people cutting steel with x2s and even little sherlines and those things don't look stout at all. I am trying to plan tube or rod or square or welds or bolts or bearing or slides etc. if someone has any idea in pounds that would help me tremendously. thanks everyone
