New to the forum, new to Cincinnati. Starting up a Maxim 630 with an A950. Trying to do a Tool Changer Alignment (Chains were off for shipping, transporter slid off the back and got hung up on the column, got that back together mechanically) So the manual says Machine Setup > Access > Service > Axis Select and then modify Axis Present to Both on the W axis so you can jog the transporter around with the handwheel. It also says thou shalt not do a mech align while W is set to both. With the machine on it will not let me modify the axis from Mech to Both, It says function not available. (password was set to service level) If I hit e-stop I can modify the value to both and then to the Control > Reconfig as the manual says, I hit master Start again to turn the servos on but it seems like W axis is not powering up. You can turn the handwheel but the W axis will not physically move. The positions update on the screen, but the axis does not move.
Possible related question is what are the various password levels on an A950. It was set to service when I got the machine, but I didn't realize that and somehow got it back to operator. Of course non of the standard passwords for Service level worked as it has been changed. The previous owner gave me a password that got me into MAI level. Is that higher or lower than Service level? Seems like I have access to everything I did under the service level, but I still can't get the alignment procedure to work. In trying to get the password figured out I got the password reset procedure from MAG, but it cautions that it will wipe out the active and alternative programs along with all tool offset data. I don't really care about that, but will it delete any critical parameters required to run?
