Good afternoon everyone, well I bought a 3040z off of craiglist thinking that I got a great deal, it included a computer, monitor, several end mills and other parts. It did have a boot leg copy of Mach3, I immdediatly purchased the license and got that straightened out. The machine worked great for a couple of weeks, I cut plenty of "air" and had practiced with foam.
I decided to cut on some real wood, a $140 piece of teak, as a memorial for my best friend who died last year at a young age. I watched it for about an hour, went inside to get something to eat. Came out to check progress and the bit had broken off and the piece was a mess.
Z axsis failed to comply, and upon opening the "blue box", the Z driver board had a red light lite where as the other two where green. Jogging with the keyboard will not move the Z, so I am assuming I have a bad driver.
Who else has had this happen, did you go straight to the manufactor of this crap YOOCNC (CarvingCNC) to buy a replacement.
Any go arounds? any suggestions would be appreciated.
Mark
