Hello everybody,
I need help with the following problem:
I have 1.5A/phase stepper motors and I've put an Amp Meter on my driver to adjust the current accordingly.
The thing is when I drop the current below 2A in idle, the motors start whistling/squeaking.
Above 2A the motors are silent but they easily overheat and I am sure I'll burn them that way.
It might have any relation with halfstep/fullstep settings or how many steps/unit I set in the software (let's say Mach3), or what could be the problem?!
How do I appropriately tune the current, in idle or with motors running to have maximum current labeled on them ?
