I bought some of those cheap ebay L298 H-Bridge boards, not realizing they didn't already have the sense resistor/comparator section built in. After a little research, I discovered the L297 can handle that plus convert the 4 pin input of the 98 into industry standard 2 pin dir/step input. Though I doubt I'll need it, it can also microstep.
I want to know if anyone has actually married the 4$ ebay bridge board with the L297 translator? I saw in one discussion the placement of the sense resistors is critical and can cause problems. Anyone tinkered with this board by adding the L297 perchance?
Btw, one seller appears to be selling a $10 kit for the entire job, including schokty diodes, etc...but no pcb to go with that I can tell. I can't make the pcb's until i get my cnc built, sigh.
