How Much Torque do you Really Need?

I have a X2 Mini mill that i am going to CNC. I have 495oz-in steppers for X, Y, and Z and it seems that most people that do the X2 conversion use these steppers with no problem but is that overkill?

I am also working on designing a trunnion table and steppers for that and i need one of the steppers for the 5 axis to be somewhat low profile. i found a low profile stepper that runs 110 oz-in.... is that enough?
