Problem Track ball problem

Looks like another issue has crept up. So far the mill is running, so I am happy about that.

When I first got the mill up and running, the track ball would only move the curser up and down, not side to side.
So I could not find a track ball, I ordered a joystick as a replacement. This was purchased from the person I have been getting most of my other parts from. He said it was a direct replacement.

I put in the joystick, and the curser only moved up and down. Just like before.


Where should I start?
