Using two regulated power supplies-should it be done?

I am currently building a 5x9 CNC router table, and will have 4 stepper drives to control the axis, 2 on x axis, 1 each on y and z. I have been looking for a larger unregulated toroidal power supply, but the places i have been looking are out of stock. My drives are good for 80v. In finished form, I am thinking of using a 72v PS. Until I get that PS, i have two 48v 7a regulated power supplies, of which I would like to hook one up to the x axis (both drives), and the other one up to the y and z axis. I realize that I wouldnt be getting as much speed as I could, but hopefully its only temporary.

Is this going to work?

Also, are there any good places that stock unregulated power supplies in Canada that anyone can reccomend?

Thank you in advance!
