Hello All,
Thanks for looking....
I'm running BCC V24. I'm trying to make an offset surface. I have drawn a portion of a mold and need an offset for the accompanying mold half to make up for the material thickness being molded (pressed). I basically drew a wire frame, surfaced, stitched it, then tried to offset the surface -.625". I get one of two results. BCC crashes (which happens a lot) when its calculating the offset. Or it does offset the surface but the geometry goes crazy. I have tried several approaches and all have failed. Do you guys have any suggestions??

I just tried to save the file where the offset geometry went crazy so I could upload it and BCC locked up as usual, lol
I'll upload just the surface. You can extract a wire from it...
Any help would be great. I have spent lots of time on this. I'm guessing my initial geometry is weak somehow.....and just gets worse as I ask BCC to do even more complex calculations...

I have tried to just extrude(not offset) the surface which would be ideal. However it treats each surface a separate piece, even though I have stitched to a solid. I have even done boolean + each piece together. Same results. If you use the select mode it shows it as one piece. If you extrude the surface it acts as separate pieces, leaving areas of overlap and holes...

I tried to use the offset on the frame and that seems to only get bad geo too.

Once again thank you for your time!!!
Struggling.......
