Problem SprutCam miscalculations - gouge, remove features, etc.

In the WEIRD file, the operation "Finishing waterline peg" gouges the vertical wall next to the boss. But the operation is green-checked. The space between the boss and the wall is 1/8", so in real life it would indeed gouge.

Also in the WEIRD file, if you enable the "1/8 Roughing waterline" operation and run it, it generates a toolpath that completely removes the boss!!! Putting a restrict zone around the base of the boss, defined by double-clicking the curve, does not help. (In fact, I've never been able to get restrict zone to work. Faces turn red, but toolpaths go right across them.)

However, if you change the tool to #2 in my tool table, the "1/8 taper", then it works fine - doesn't remove the boss, doesn't gouge the wall. (But doesn't reach the bottom of the cut, which is why I need to use the 1/8 cylinder tool.)

In the CRASH file, the final "Roughing waterline2" operation crashes SprutCam whenever I click Run. SprutCam 7 Build 1.6 Rev 58499 on Windows 7 Professional Version 6.1 SP1. (Also crashes another computer at another TechShop. Same SprutCam version.)

In the JOBZONE file, the "Finishing 1/8 knob" operation cuts around the outside of the desired faces. Even though I defined a job zone. I cannot make it stop doing this.

Am I doing something systematically wrong with SprutCam? What do I need to know so that I can stop wasting dozens of hours wrestling with problems like this?

Even if you can just tell me the solution to any one of these problems, maybe I can learn and generalize... I know there's a lot to learn about SprutCam. Autodesk Inventor was very easy to learn compared to this.

Thanks,
Chris
